Water Slides
As part of Swimplex Aquatics total supply package to the Aquatics Industry, we offer a range of tube water slides, custom designed to suit applications in new and refurbished Aquatic Centres across Australia.
We only produce tube slides as in these days of ever increasing emphasis on public liability insurance and risk assessment it is recognised that tube slides are far safer rides than open slides.
Our 800mm and 1200mm diameter tube slides have been installed with lengths ranging from 23m to 85m and starting platfrom heights of 3m to 10m.
At Swimplex Aquatics we use 3D CAD computer drafting to detail the design of each slide and its supporting structure.
Slides are designed to suit each application, taking into account the requirements of the client, that is whether the slide is to be predominately by youngsters, teenagers, thrill seekers or all comers. Often the requirement is for two slides, one for younger children and one for teenagers with starts from a twin level start tower.
Slides can finish in a splash pool, which can be a stand alone pool or a dedicated part of a leisure pool. The alternative is to finish in a run out system. A run out is a low profile modular pool, typically 6m long by 1.2m wide, which sits upon concrete plinth surrounded by wetdeck gutters, with the slide water cascading over a weir plate and cover at the end of the runout. This water then returns, along with splash out water captured by the gutters, to the balance tank, before being pumped via filtration and water treatment back to the slide start tub.
Our designs conform with AS1657, AS 3533 and the Building Code of Australia.
Swimplex Aquatics can supply slide installations as “turn key projects” or work in conjunction with the head contractor where supply and installation of only the slide components and or supporting structures may be the requirement.
Slides can be positioned in a number of ways, that is the slide can be totally indoors, totally outdoors or start and finish inside with an exit and return through the building walls. The governing factor determining the slides length from indoor starts is the available head height. Standard require a minimum 2m head height from the top of the platform to any fixed member above. This point is often overlooked when the building is being designed.
Colours for the slide tube can be totally opaque, totally translucent or opaque bottom with translucent tops. There is a wide range of opaque colours and a new range of UV resistant translucent colours now available.
All Swimplex Aquatics tube slides are designed, installed and commissioned as body slides and mats are not required. Each joint in the slide is perfectly aligned using full circumference alignment jigs. Cutting and filling of joints to get a fair sliding surface is eliminated.
